Pastoral Essentials and Hermeneutics

This class covers everything from the Biblical role of the pastor to what the modern day “church” expects of pastors. Students will learn the pastor’s responsibilities in weddings, funerals, counseling, water baptisms, communion, baby dedications and everything in between.

Students will also learn both principles and skills of interpreting scripture in terms of historical, social, and literary environments, as well as the process of applying the meaning to today’s needs. This class provides a practical approach that is key and necessary for being a pastor or leader in the church today.
