Just One Choice

Posted April 30th, 2011 by David Belich

15 “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. 16 For I command you this day to love the LORD your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you... 17 “But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen… 18 then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed… 19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses… Oh, that you would choose life…! Deut. 30:15-19 NLT

When I think about what the World Revival School of Ministry means to me, I think about this Scripture because I came to a point where I knew I had to make a choice and it was a choice of life or death. It was a choice of completely going for God or just coasting along in church like I’ve done my whole life, which did bring death to me.

I felt God nudging me to take classes at this ministry school. I didn’t tell anyone because I was scared of making the choice. I came up with every excuse I could. I already had a degree from a Christian University, what about finances and on the excuses went. I knew it would be hard and uncomfortable because I knew I needed to change, and I disqualified myself in every area because I wasn’t sure if I could do it.

Before I made the decision to come, my mind was filled with jumbled thoughts as it battled between God’s call and my excuses trying to disqualify myself. I knew God was doing something powerful in this school because I had seen so many students lives changed.

I realized I was the only one holding myself back and was not listening or trusting God. Finally I stopped listening to my excuses and I told one of my friends that I was going to the School of Ministry. As soon as I did, I felt the immediate release of every excuse and fear and I was able to begin moving forward in faith!

I trusted God and as I prepared myself to start classes my housing needs, job, and finances were taken care of, but more than that, my life fell into place. All it took was one choice.

To me, attending the School of Ministry was the choice I had to make because I want to live and be a carrier of God’s presence to the people around me and the generations to come. Being a student in the World Revival School of Ministry is equipping me and training me to be who He needs me to be for this generation!
